Queen of King and Dufferin

There is a little lion-ette who resides in a dwelling near King and Dufferin, one of the most fearsome parts of Parkdale.  She's brave as a bear with a heart rare and true.  Her name is Bowie, and she has a beautiful little face sparkling with intelligence and a magnificent coat of golden brown fluff.

shortly after Bowie entered the world she began her rule with the heart of a child

at one year she reigns majestic over the misfitted and abnormal that populate this particular corner of Parkdale

She takes her watch seriously, making sure the marginalized are treated with dignity and humanity.

The little Empress.

The tilt of this strange nation and the will to remain for the duration, waving the flag, feeling it drag

Even great rulers need to slumber in the sunlight on their mother's paw.

Bowie pays homage to Klimt

As one of the people of king and dufferin that Bowie protects, I look at that face and feel safe.

thank you to dear friend and loving Queen mother, Hilary.

Cat Lady of Parkdale

Rocking a cat hat at the Parkdale Dollarama

It kinda looks like a bunny!  Maybe it is.  But let's just say it's a cat to fit in with my lifesteez.

Charlie Sheen cats speak the truth

As some of you may know, my second most beloved thing after cats is when celebrities go CRAY-CRAY!  So this was already a pretty good week for both myself and Charlie Sheen.  Now that cats around the world are echoing the vitriolic sentiments he spit on The Alex Jones Show it's pretty much the best day of my life.

Well, somebody had to say it.

Oh, the ironing!

The ironing is delicious because cats ARE feminists!!!  Here's the proof.

Thanks to Alex Hall for this great picture!  I saw it in real life the day i posted it.  Right outside Good For Her on Harbord Street!

Sydney needs $!

Guess what?  There's a Parkdale kitty who needs your help!

This is Sydney and this cute-heart kitty needs some seriously expensive surgery!

The wonderful thing about this great Cat-of-Parkdale-saving campaign is that you could get some seriously cool handmade things out of it!

Cat owner Mel makes things and knows a lot of people who do too.  Mel has set up a page where Sydney-lovers are selling their hand-made wares to raise funds for the surgery.  Things being sold are zines, cd's, art, crafts, skills, etc!

My friend Sarah Pinder is selling her incredible zines, which are worth the very reasonable cost even without the added benny of helping a PCat in need, here!  Sydney needs the money by March 22nd!

Other things to buy, from Fimo teeth pins to tech work, are listed here.  There are few things more beautiful to me than a concerned cat mother quilting coasters to try to save her sweet Sydney.

I got it.

Cat representations of some of the major ethnicities of Parkdale.

Steph and I tag-teamed on this one.  Check out cats representing for some of the major Parkdalian ethnicities!

Anthropomorphized Hungarian comic book cats and mice!  There's the one-eyed swindler, the glasses-wearing mummy-cat, some sort of flying samurai rat, a hot rat couple with weird smoke billowing up from their passion, the accusatory spinster (you just know she's not married!) cat, the business "fat cat",  teenage new-wave/greenpeace mice, the evil communist and the slutty blonde mouse (note her significant rack!).
Everyone's favorite ethnic group - the Tibetans!
Parkdalian hipster cat reacts to shocking Grammy wins. YES hipsters are an ethnicity.
Parkdale Rastafarian Lion!  Everyting Irie!
